When life becomes too fast to comprehend, and time become too valuable to spend waiting in airports for delayed flights to activities or business meetings that need to be rescheduled until you arrived! It’s time to consider about private jet charter — a quicker, easier, more personalized way to travel to your destination. Luckily, traveling in a private jet is one of the safest and most luxurious ways to travel. Unlike commercial airlines, private jets fly back and forth to smaller, or even remote suburban airports that are closer to destination points. One added benefit, typically smaller airports do not have the long line up or delays passengers which reflecting today’s large urban airports.

Several tips to help you choose the right private jet charter company:

Tips 1:

Identify the Right Charter Operator - First step is to check the local yellow pages or any search engine to locate charter companies. However, there won’t be any information about the quality of individual companies there, other than what is written in advertisements created by the companies themselves. A better source for overall quality is a charter broker who uses only officially rated operators or an auditing company such as Wyvern Consulting or Aviation Research Group. Another way would be to browse around this website, since Ultimate Private Jet only features private jet charter company with proven track record of customer satisfaction and excellent customer service.

Tips 2:

Validate the Charter Company - Next step is verifying the charter company’s advertising claims through official documentation. The simplest way to do this is to break down the process into three important categories: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) documentation, insurance and third-party audits.

Ø FAA DocumentationEach charter company must posses a valid Part 135 air taxi certificate which authorizes each aircraft to fly for hire. Obtaining a Part 135 certificate requires the charter company to comply to strict FAA guidelines and is greatly enforced by the FAA. Unfortunately, there are several charter companies that will try to fly under the less strict Part 91 (owner flown) regulations. These rules are far more lenient than FAA regulation, which increase passenger’s own liability. Hence, it is essential to ask for a copy of the FAA air taxi certificate and to be certain of the regulations the flights will be followed.

Ø Insurance – Although sometimes overlooked, insurance can provide tons of information about a private jet charter company. Usual limits for a charter company are $25 million for a small jet (such as a Cessna Citation, Lear 35 or Beachjet), $50 million for a mid-sized jet (such as a Hawker, Lear 55 or Citation III) and $100 million for a large jet (such as a Challenger, Gulfstream or Falcon 900.) Often, these higher insurance limits require an audit by the insurance company to assure that the pilots and mechanics have the experience required to ensure a safe flight. Also, another free service most operators will provide is for the passenger to be “named additional insured” on the policy. This option is based on a personal decision, and should be considered if the passenger flies private charter on a regular basis.

Ø Third Party Audits – There are some companies that focus in auditing charter companies. The industry’s most famous service is Aviation Research Group (ARG/US). ARG/US combines several databases, including FAA, Department of Transportation (DOT) and one on aircraft transactions, to decide the safety rating of the operator, its pilots and its aircraft. In addition, these companies will conduct on-site audits on safety procedures, aircraft log books and additional documentation.
